CLAIRE EMLEY INTERIORS

Claire is a London-based residential interior designer with over 16 years of experience in the industry. Her journey into design began in Edinburgh, where she was mentored by the late, esteemed Jimmy Thomson of AF Drysdale, whose classical training ignited her passion for the craft.

After completing an MA (Hons) in History of Art at the University of Aberdeen, Claire honed her skills further with a diploma from the prestigious KLC School of Design in 2005. She began work at Pierre Frey, followed by six years at a successful Chelsea-based interior design and property development company. There, she was responsible for the design and project management of a number of high-end residential projects both in the UK and abroad.

In 2010, Claire relocated to Hong Kong, where she played a pivotal role in setting up Fromental Ltd’s Hong Kong and Asia office. She later returned to London as Regional Head of UK and EU Business Development, continuing her work with the renowned brand. In 2023, Claire took the leap to establish her own design studio, while still continuing to consult for Fromental.

Claire’s design philosophy centres on creating tailored interiors that reflect her clients’ personal styles, blending traditional elegance with contemporary sophistication. She specialises in crafting spaces that are both functional and beautiful, with a meticulous eye for detail in every stage of the process. From the careful layering of colours, textures, and patterns, to providing comprehensive project coordination, Claire works closely with clients to transform their vision into a reality. Her approach is driven by an unwavering commitment to understanding each client's unique ambitions, ensuring every project is executed with precision and thoughtful consideration.

Claire offers a bespoke service designed to meet the requirements of each of her clients. She works with a broad range of suppliers and craftsmen and can work on projects from conception to completion; or on a consultancy basis depending on what works best for the client.   

A key aspect of Claire’s approach is getting to know her clients and understanding their needs. She offers a complimentary 60 minute initial consultation where she takes the time to listen to the client’s requirements, preferences, and aspirations for the space. This meeting allows for a detailed brief to be created, outlining the scope of works, assessing any potential challenges, and setting the foundation for a successful and personalised project.

By focusing on collaboration and a deep understanding of each client’s vision, Claire is able to deliver interiors that are not only beautiful but also perfectly suited to the individual.
